A Christian Arbitrator is an impartial and independent third party entrusted with the adjudication of disputes through the application of biblical principles, faith-based norms, and, where relevant, applicable legal standards pursuant to the provisons of UNCITRAL Law and Rule, formulated by the United Nations and followed by the concerned State where the adjudication takes place, culminating in a binding determination commonly described as Christian conciliation cum arbitration. Such arbitrators typically preside over disputes involving ecclesiastical bodies, religious ministries, or individuals who elect to eschew secular litigation in favour of a spiritually grounded dispute resolution process, incorporating prayer, scriptural guidance, and structured mediation techniques.
Like secular arbitration, Christian arbitration is a voluntary process. However, the final ruling can be binding and enforceable under the Arbitration law of the concerned / agreed State law like Federal Arbitration Act (FAA) in the U.S., Arbitrationa and Conciliation Act, 1996 in India or The Arbitration Act, 1996 in England, The Mauritiun International Arbitration Act,2008 etc.
